Cabgolin 0.25 mg?
Cabgolin 0.25 mg (Cabergoline) Tablet is used to
treat excess production of a natural hormone called prolactin. Excess
production of this hormone is due to unknown causes or abnormal growths in the
pituitary. This medicine helps in preventing infertility, sexual problems, and
bone loss caused by excess prolactin production in men and in women who are not
breastfeeding. It is also used as a second line therapy in the treatment of
signs and symptoms of Parkinson's disease along with carbidopa-levodopa or as a
single agent in case of failure of or intolerance to a non-ergot compound.
How Cabgolin 0.25 mgTablet works:
Cabgolin 0.25 mg Tablet is a dopamine antagonist. It blocks
the action of a chemical messenger (dopamine) which is responsible for the
release of prolactin, a hormone that helps in breast milk production. This
reduces the increased prolactin levels and stops breast milk production in case
of stillbirth, abortion or miscarriage.

of milk in women after birth, if breast-feeding is to be prevented for medical
reasons.

Contraindications:
Cabgolin tablets (Generic Cabgolin) are contraindicated
in patients with a hypersensitivity to Cabgolin, any inactive ingredient
present in Cabgolin tablets or any ergot alkaloid. Cabgolin tablets are
contraindicated in patients with a history of pulmonary, pericardial and
retroperitoneal fibrotic disorders.
Warnings and Precautions When
Using Cabgolin 0.25 mg Tablets:
Do not use Cabgolin if you are allergic to Cabgolin,
or if you have:
• uncontrolled high blood pressure (hypertension)
• hypertension caused by pregnancy, including eclampsia
and preeclampsia
• if you are allergic to any type of ergot medicine such
as ergotamine dihydroergotamine
Possible Side Effects Cabgolin 0.25 mg:
Cabgolin might have some side
effects but it’s not possible to anticipate them. It does not have any major
side effects and the minor ones that may occur are temporary. In rare cases,
there might be major side effects and immediate medical attention must be sought.Some
of the side effects could be nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain,
depression, gas, indigestion, constipation, dizziness, spinning sensation,
